Questions you might have
Does my parent need to be tech-savvy?
Not at all! We’ll help with setup and onboarding. Your parent can simply talk to the robot naturally, just like they would with a person. No apps, passwords, or technical skills required.
What happens if my parent has an emergency?
If our caregiver notices an emergency during a check-in, they'll contact 911 and notify your family immediately.
HumCare provides regular check-ins throughout the day, but is not a 24/7 emergency monitoring service. The robot does not automatically detect falls or other emergencies.
What if my parent doesn't like HumCare?
Your parent's comfort comes first! If HumCare isn't the right fit, you can cancel within the first 30 days for a full refund and return the robot at no cost.
After 30 days, you can still cancel anytime, but payments are non-refundable.
What does my HumCare subscription include?
For $299/month, your subscription includes the HumCare robot, real human caregivers, tech support, personalized daily check-ins, companionship, support with everyday routines and lifetime hardware warranty.
We’ll work with your family to create a personalized Care Plan tailored to your parent’s needs and preferences.
The robot is included as a lease and remains HumCare’s property.
How does HumCare protect my parent’s privacy?
Your parent’s privacy and independence are our priorities. Our caregivers only connect through the robot during authorized interactions, and we take measures to protect personal information.
We’ll clearly explain how camera access, recordings, and personal information are handled before enrollment, so your family knows what to expect.
Does HumCare replace an in-person caregiver?
HumCare is an affordable way to supplement in-person care. Our remote caregivers provide companionship, daily check-ins, reminders, and wellness support at a fraction of the cost of traditional home care.
While HumCare cannot provide hands-on assistance with bathing, dressing, or mobility, it can complement existing care and reduce the need for some in-person visits.
What if the robot stops working or loses its connection?
If the robot experiences a technical issue, contact the HumCare team for troubleshooting and guidance. info@humcare.org or (323) 870-1333.
How does my parent interact with HumCare?
Your parent can simply talk to our real, human caregivers through the robot, just like having a conversation in person. Caregivers can remotely move the robot around the home for friendly conversations, daily check-ins, and personalized support.
We'll help with setup and onboarding, so no technical skills are needed.
Can HumCare remind my parent to take medication?
Yes! Our caregivers can provide personalized medication reminders as part of your parent's Care Plan and follow up to ask whether they've taken their medication.
HumCare does not administer medications or independently verify that they've been taken.
